Jess is our bold, bubbly Senior Stylist with a serious love for bright blondes, rich brunettes, and anything with a little edge. She brings a high-energy vibe to the salon floor, with a loud laugh, quick wit, and a passion for making people feel like their most confident, radiant selves. From campaign shoots to colour awards, Jess comes to Scissor & Stone with an impressive resume — and the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years. Describe your vibe in 3 words.

Loud, giggly & chatty.

Jess, what's your proudest moment as a stylist so far?

I have experienced a few things like campaign photoshoots, BTS at Australian Hairdresser of the Year shoots, I've been a part of lots of education, getting hair ready for HairFest, fashion shows etc, but I was also a finalist in the Matrix All Star Colour Awards, so that was probably the proudest I've felt.

What do you love most about doing hair?

The way my clients feel at the end of it, seeing their smile and their mood change, it puts a smile on my face and makes me want to come back again tomorrow and do it all again!

What's your coffee order?

A dirty chai latte.

What is your dream travel destination?

Anywhere in Italy.

What inspired you to become a hairdresser?

When I was 2 years old I used to cut my own hair and it was so bad I would get in trouble and I'd just cry because I wanted to be able to do it like my hairdresser Andrea, so I would cry and say "I want to be like Andrea," haha.

What's currently on your playlist?

Luke Combs.

If you weren't a hairdresser, what would you be doing?

If I had unlimited money I would be travelling around the world, going to all the resorts, sipping margaritas haha so just not working haha.

What's your favourite thing about your clients?

I love the relationships I get to build with my clients.

What’s your #1 tip for someone nervous to try a new look?

Put a filter on it and see if you like it, if you don't, don't do it!

What's your favourite way to unwind after a big day in the salon?

I like to have a glass of wine on the couch and watch a movie with my husband.

What's a secret talent or party trick you have?

I can sing, that's about it.

How do you want people to feel after sitting in your chair?

Like a new person, more confident and just happy with themselves and their hair and just feel like they can just tackle the world!

Guilty pleasure TV Show?

Friends is my favourite show ever, of all time.

What's your signature hair look or go-to technique?

I really like bold, bright colours, whether it's bold blondes or rich brunettes or intense coppers, that's my jam!

What's a hair myth you wish people would stop believing?

That curly hair people shouldn't use conditioner!

What's your spirit animal & why?

Probably a horse, they have long legs like me haha, and they are crazy, and so am I!

What's your top 3 favourite movies?

I just love movies so much, I watch movies for what my mood is so I don't really have a favourite.
